AFTERMATH, 2021

Acrylic & Eggyolk on canvas 6in x 4in

/Aftermath/ does not always means trauma or bad, but rather the awakening of oneself.

As people gradually return to their "default" or ordinary routines, they find themselves paying closer attention to their surroundings and gaining a newfound appreciation for what they have. The aftermath of challenging times doesn't always signify a grim conclusion; rather, it often signifies a personal awakening, a deepening solemnity within the soul, and the emergence of meaningful growth. We come to realize this, and we strive towards a better path.

This series portrays the most ordinary and innocent moments that define everyone's lives. The artist employs a limited color palette deliberately excluding pure black, emphasizing a sense of absence. Through the continued exploration and experimentation with materials like egg yolk and acrylic, each painting boasts a unique texture and color scheme.

In a day, there are 24 hours, and within those hours lie 24 unforgettable moments in our lives; among them, each person experiences at least four heartbeat moments. These moments may occur within a single day or unfold across various stages of one's life. Each scene in the series represents one of these pivotal moments, accompanied by a brief narrative. The artist invites viewers to reflect on the special moments in their own lives and encourages them to begin collecting their own set of 24 moments after experiencing the exhibition.
